If you want to work as a Java Full Stack Developer in 2026, the market still rewards people who can ship: APIs, data, a UI, and a deploy story. Generative AI is now part of that story — as features inside the product, not a side lecture.
1. Language and JVM fluency
Core Java, OOP, collections, exceptions, concurrency basics and Java 17+ features. Without this, Spring becomes copy-paste.
2. Data
SQL modelling, indexes, transactions. Hibernate/JPA after you can write the SQL yourself.
3. Spring Boot engineering
REST design, validation, security (JWT), testing, logging. Microservices fundamentals — not a Kubernetes thesis on week two.
4. UI track
React or Angular deeply enough to consume APIs, handle auth and ship a usable admin or customer UI.
5. Engineering habits
Git, code review, Docker basics, AWS deploy of one real app.
6. AI-enable
LLM APIs, RAG over your own data, and an AI support/chat feature you can demo and test.
7. Launch
DSA practice, system-design basics, resume/GitHub and mocks. Cognitex’s flagship program follows this order.
